Pizza with Ham, Black Olives, Arugula, and Cheese

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 150 ml lukewarm water
  • 1/2 packet of dry yeast (about 4 g)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

For the Topping:

  • 150 g pizza tomato sauce
  • 200 g ham, thinly sliced
  • 50 g black olives, sliced
  • 100 g arugula
  • 50 g hard cheese (e.g., Parmesan), shaved
  • 200 g grated mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Preparation Steps

  1. Preparing the Dough: In a bowl, mix lukewarm water, sugar, and dry yeast. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until the yeast activates. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, olive oil, and add the yeast mixture. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  2. Shaping the Dough: Once risen, roll out the dough on a floured surface to the desired pizza size (approximately a 30 cm diameter circle). Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a pizza stone if you have one.
  3. Topping: Evenly spread the tomato sauce on the dough and sprinkle with grated mozzarella. Then add the ham slices and black olives.
  4. Baking: Preheat the oven to 220 °C. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  5. Finishing Touch: After baking, remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle with olive oil. Top with fresh arugula and shaved hard cheese (like Parmesan).
  6. Serving: Slice and serve immediately.
