Pigs in a Blanket

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry: 1 package (about 250 g)
  • Mustard: 2 tablespoons (to taste)
  • Egg: 1 (for brushing)
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Sesame or poppy seeds for sprinkling (optional)

Preparation Steps

  1. Prepare the Dough and Filling: Roll out the puff pastry into a thin rectangle and cut it into 8 equal strips wide enough to wrap around each sausage. Lightly spread mustard on each sausage and place on one end of a pastry strip. Season with black pepper if desired.
  2. Wrap the Sausages: Wrap each sausage securely in pastry, pressing the edges to seal. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Brush and Sprinkle: Beat the egg and brush it over each roll. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
  4. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
  5. Serve: Serve warm as an appetizer, snack, or quick treat.
